Field Hockey: 3 Shore Conference players picked for NFHCA All-Region Teams

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association has announced its 2015 Harrow Sports/NFHCA High School All-Region teams and several Shore Conference players were honored.

Among the 17 players picked for the New Jersey region, three Shore Conference seniors were honored.

Those players were Shore Regional's Sarah Dwyer (headed to Boston College), Rumson-Fair Haven's Madison Maguire (headed to the University of Maryland) and Shore Regional's Jessica Welch (headed to Stanford University).

Dwyer was one of the best goalies in New Jersey this season as she had 128 saves and helped the Blue Devils go 22-5.

Maguire was one of the best midfielders in New Jersey, led her team to the Shore Conference Tournament title this season and finished with 42 goals and 15 assists.

Welch was also one of the best midfielders in New Jersey, led her team to the NJSIAA Group 1 state title and finished the season with a Shore-Conference leading 51 goals and she also had 19 assists.

Dwyer, Maguire and Welch could also be picked for the 2015 Harrow Sports / NFHCA High School All-American Teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, December 16th.

Ocean's Taylor Racioppi picked to NSCAA All-Region Team 

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has released its All-Region honors and former Ocean standout and current Duke University player Taylor Racioppi was picked to the third team.

Duke is coming off advancing to the NCAA College Cup title match for the third time in school history, before falling to Penn State, 1-0. The Blue Devils collected a 14-6-5 overall record, while knocking off two No. 1 seeds and a No. 2 seed on their way to the championship.

Coming in as a freshman, Racioppi made an immediate impact for the Blue Devils. She notched a team-high 20 points to go along with seven goals and six assists, while also registering a team-best 86 shots. Her six assists ranked tied sixth and her  seven goals was tied 13th on the Duke freshman record books. The All-ACC Freshman selection led the squad with four game-winning goals.
